Former United States First Lady, Melania Trump, has congratulated Bitcoin on its 13th anniversary, with the celebratory remarks coming a few short weeks after her announcement of the launch of her new NFT venture.

On Twitter Trump said, “it is widely reported that Bitcoin’s market cap exceeds USD$1 trillion,” and wished the cryptocurrency a happy birthday. According to Cointelegraph, at the time of writing, the BTC market value was slightly above $800 billion, with the last time the currency reached over $1 trillion being early December 2021.

Trump’s recent emergence in the crypto space became most noticeable after her launch of a digital watercolour NFT of her eyes titled “Melania’s Vision” in mid-December 2021 selling for 1 Solana (SOL) (approximately US$170).

The former First Lady has released the next of her NFT pieces titled “Head of State”, featuring another watercolour of herself dressed in white to be auctioned for a starting bid of 1415.86 SOL (approximately US$250,000).

Trump’s official statement on her NFT release has said that a portion of the profits made from the sales will be donated to children aging out of the foster care system.
